Traveling by plane with all the safety

Do you honestly believe that airlines are as safe as they should be? Do you feel secure in every flight? The truth is that these questions are probably a bit hard to reply but I would like you to read the following msnbc.com article which will allow you to have a much more precise idea of how it all works and what you should definitely avoid:

"

Within minutes of Continental Connection Flight 3407's fatal crash on the night of February 12, frequent fliers were e-mailing each other, cursing commuter airlines and vowing never to board smaller commercial aircraft again.

“I HATE THOSE TINY OLD RJS,” one otherwise rational business traveler I know shouted in his e-mail. “NOBODY SHOULD FLY THEM. THEY'RE NOT SAFE.”

No matter that the aircraft involved in Flight 3407's fiery end six miles from Buffalo Niagara International Airport was not an “RJ,” industry shorthand for regional jet. (It was a Q400, a twin-engine turboprop plane manufactured by Bombardier of Canada.) No matter that the 74-seat Q400 isn't particularly tiny. (At 107 feet long with a 93-foot wingspan, it is about the size of several early versions of Boeing's workhorse B737 jet and 20 feet longer than Bombardier's 50-seat regional jet.) And no matter that the Q400 isn't old. (The Q400 series didn't enter service until 2000 and the plane that crashed in Buffalo was less than a year old.)

Safe? That is most definitely in the eye of the beholder — and most business travelers eye commuter airlines with extreme trepidation. They don't like flying them. They don't like that the commuter lines wrap themselves in the colors and livery of the major airlines. And they are convinced, rightly or wrongly, that commuter carriers simply aren't as safe as the major airlines they mimic.

From a statistical point of view, flying in the United States is astonishingly safe. Between 2002 and November, 2008, the last month for which government numbers are available, about 4.4 billion people have flown 50 billion domestic miles. In that time, there have been just three fatal crashes.

Unfortunately, all three involved commuter airliners: 19 died in Charlotte, N.C., in 2003; 49 passengers died in Lexington, Ky., in 2006; and 50 people (including one on the ground) perished in Buffalo early this month. The circumstances and the aircraft were different in each case, but the fact that all three involved commuter airlines has spooked business travelers and even pilots.

There are less tourists in Hawaii these days...

With the current financial downturn, would you really expect a rise in the number of people who travel to Hawaii these days? Well, I am sure that it's everyone's guess that there is no way on how that number could have increased and that can be easily seen on the msnbc.com article just below:

"

HONOLULU - Hawaii tourism — the state's No. 1 industry — took another hit in January, with a 12.5 percent fall in the number of people coming to the islands compared with the same month last year, state officials said.

The Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism reported Wednesday that the drop resulted in a 13.6 decline in spending by visitors who came by air.

Three of the four top markets sending tourists to Hawaii posted double-digit declines — U.S. East 14.9 percent, U.S. West 14.3 percent and Japan 12.7 percent. The fourth — Canada — posted a 4.7 percent reduction.

"This is a very challenging time for everyone, because tourism is the backbone of our economy and when tourism falters it affects everyone in our state," state tourism liaison Marsha Wienert said. "As we move forward, our marketing message about the value of a Hawaii vacation is resonating across the mainland, resulting in bookings which have helped to offset the declines."

The January numbers followed a 10.8 percent drop in tourism in all of 2008 compared with 2007. Last year, Hawaii welcomed 6.8 million tourists, marking the first time since 2004 that fewer than 7 million tourists came to the 50th State.

Despite January's negative figures, Wienert managed to point to a positive development.

"An unexpected bright spot in the January 2009 statistics was a 49.2 percent growth in Japanese honeymooners to the islands," she said.

The jump helped fuel a 12.1 percent boost in the total number of visitors who honeymooned in Hawaii last month, compared with January 2008.

The 522,241 travelers who came to Hawaii last month racked up 5.6 million visitor days, a 10.4 percent decline from January of last year. The 512,139 who arrived by air spent $949.8 million in the islands, $149.7 million, or 13.6 percent, less than tourists spent in January 2008.

Some new important features onboard

With the current financial downturn menacing most airline companies and other important organizations, it is extremely important that these companies add some new features to their services so that they can attract an increasing number of clients. Below is another msnbc.com article telling you how it all works:

"

United Airlines said Wednesday it will start accepting credit and debit cards for onboard purchases beginning March 23.

United said it will stop accepting cash for purchases on flights within the U.S. and on flights to and from Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean after the spring break season. No firm date has been set for the changeover.

United said it would take both cash and credit on flights around the rest of the world. The airline will continue to be cash-only on its United Express regional flights.

United, a unit of UAL Corp., said it got a positive reaction from passengers when it tested credit and debit card purchases over the past year.

Earlier this month American Airlines said it will shift to cashless cabins for U.S. flights beginning this summer.

Surviving from airplane crash

Even if you could imagine that, after so many people died in air plane crashes, everyone in a crashing air plane dies, the truth is that it really doesn't work that way as you may read on the article just below and which can be found on msbbc.com once again:

"

BRUSSELS - Aviation experts say some recent airline accidents with few or no fatalities show that the chances of surviving crashes are better than ever.

They say fuselages are stronger, fire-retardant technology has been improved and plane crews are better trained to deal with disaster.

"Clearly, this is not just a matter of luck," William Voss, a former Federal Aviation Administration official who is president of the Flight Safety Foundation in Alexandria, Va., said Wednesday after most passengers and crew survived a jetliner crash in the Netherlands.

Many accidents don't have such outcomes, of course. Just two weeks ago, a commuter airliner crashed while trying to land in Buffalo, N.Y., killing all 49 people on the plane and a man on the ground.

But authorities say commercial flying is at its safest in a 100-year history.

"Contrary to popular belief, most aircraft crashes are now survivable," said Gideon Ewers, spokesman for the London-based International Federation of Airline Pilots Associations.

Redescovering Paris

Would you love to discover something new in one of the most beautiful cities in the world: Paris? If that's the case, then you definitely need to read the article below that can be found on msnbc.com and which will give you a much more precise idea of what Paris is all about in what relates to magic and glamour:

"

By Rick Steves

Fantastique France continues to make its heritage and culture easier for travelers to appreciate. Being up-to-date on changes for 2009 will help your visit go smoothly.

Due to a smoking ban, you'll enjoy fresh air in bars, cafes and restaurants throughout France. The smokers have scurried outdoors to sidewalk tables; many of those seats now come with space heaters in winter.

If you're traveling in France by railpass, it's increasingly important to book trips on the TGV bullet trains in advance, as there's a strict limit on the number of seats allowed for railpass holders. And with high gas prices — and the recognition among Europeans that rail travel is about as green as you can go — trains are more crowded than ever.

In Paris, the transit system has introduced a chip-card called the Passe Navigo Decouverte, but for most tourists, the “carnets” (packs of 10 individual tickets) are still the better deal. The new Passe costs about $27, runs strictly from Monday through Sunday, and requires a photo, which means it's not shareable. In contrast, a 10-ticket pack costs about $14, is shareable, and has no expiration date.

Paris' Notre-Dame Cathedral has a new modest-dress rule. The “no shorts” code is not strictly enforced, but inside you're expected to be quiet and respectful. A new online reservation system for the Eiffel Tower may debut in 2009, allowing Tour-Eiffel-ists to book a half-hour time slot and avoid the notorious lines. At the Army Museum nearby, the section on 19th-century French military history (“Revolution to Napoleon III”) should reopen in the spring. The museum also has a new Charles de Gaulle wing, offering a 25-minute film, plus a high-tech display of photos tracing the life of France's towering 20th-century figure.

Paris' market streets delight many visitors. While rue Cler (near the Eiffel Tower) has become quite touristy, rue des Martyrs (at the foot of Montmartre) is edgier and a great way to connect with workaday Paris. If you'd like to “do the Time Warp again” while ducking airborne “French” toast, you can enjoy the cult movie “Rocky Horror Picture Show” with a Parisian crowd Friday and Saturday nights in the Latin Quarter.

The Palace of Versailles is undergoing extensive renovation so expect some closures. Repair projects may close its Opera House through June; the Petit Trianon may be closed or only partially open. Busy sightseers can save both time and money by visiting Versailles with the Paris Museum Pass. The pass covers most major sights in and around Paris, pays for itself in about three entries, and allows you to walk right by the long ticket-buying lines at places like the Louvre, the Orsay Museum, the Sainte-Chapelle chapel, and Versailles. However, everyone needs to wait through any bag-check security line.

Just as you know, the truth is that when we decide to travel around the world by plane, we normally end up noticing that it is impossible for us to eat well and as much as we used to do at home... Still, there are some amazing places where you may go even if you have never noticed them! Below is another msnbc.com article telling you the whole story:

"

By Joe Brancatelli

Airports have done a fabulous job in recent years turning their terminals into restaurants and bars. Celebrity chefs now create “airport concepts,” great local microbreweries that have airport branches, and the best wine bars in several American cities are actually at their airports.

But here's a confession: I really hate eating at an airport. No matter how cosseting the dining “concept,” refreshing the brew, or impressive the wine, I don't find airports conducive to gustatory pleasure.

For years I've kept a little list of great places to eat — joints and dives as well as casual places and culinary temples — close to many of the nation's most important airports. I'm happy to share it with you and urge you to leave a comment detailing your favorite near-the-airport places. By the way, I'm brave enough to hop in a cab for a food foray during a long layover or an unexpected delay of a connecting flight. If you're not, build some time into your schedule for a visit to a near-the-airport place before your departure.

Turbulence on Tokyo-bound flight injured passengers

Tokyo, one of the most technologically advanced cities in the world but it is far from being imune to the turbulence that often menaces its airports... As a matter of fact, today 50 passengers were injured on a flight that was menaced as you may read on the msnbc.com article just below:

"

TOKYO - Severe turbulence jolted a Tokyo-bound Northwest Airlines flight Friday from Manila, injuring about 50 passengers and crew members, officials said.

Four passengers were hospitalized, including one person with a serious neck injury, said Masashi Takahashi, spokesman for Northwest Airlines in Tokyo.

The 46 others, including seven crew members, received light injuries, he said.

Turbulence hit the plane while it was circling off the coast of Chiba, east of Tokyo, about 30 minutes before landing at Tokyo's Narita airport, he said. The plane suddenly descended, sending passengers without their seatbelts fastened lurching from their seats, he said.

The Boeing 747-400 plane carried 408 passengers and 14 crew members.

Japanese TV networks showed passengers holding their heads and necks as they left the plane.

"I was so scared, I thought I would die," a passenger who was not named told the TBS television network. "My whole body was lifted into the air."

Fire trucks and ambulances were on the tarmac when the plane landed. One of the passengers was taken away in a wheelchair and another on a stretcher. Some were later wheeled into hospitals on gurneys.

Most of the passengers were believed to have been hurt by hitting their heads or twisting their necks.

A low pressure system off eastern Japan on Friday morning created strong winds and large thunderclouds that can cause air turbulence.

Traveling to Mexico may be dangerous

Are you planning to visit Mexico anytime soon? Well, the truth is that some US authorities are now advising everyone willing to travel to Mexico to think twice before going there as it is getting a more dangerous place as the days pass! Below is another msnbc.com article telling you the whole story in detail:

"

MEXICO CITY - The U.S. State Department has renewed a travel advisory warning Americans about an increase in violence along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The alert does not recommend staying away from the country or any particular part of it, but advises American to stay away from prostitution and drug-dealing areas.

It recommends visiting only legitimate business and tourist areas.

The alert issued Friday says violent crime is particularly worrisome along the U.S.-Mexico border, where automatic weapons and grenades have been used in clashes between police and drug traffickers.

More than 6,000 people were killed in drug violence in Mexico last year.

Paradise getaways

When thinking about the most beautiful places on earth where you may also enjoy some of the most relaxing moments of your life, what first comes to your mind? Personally, I would say that some paradise islands are definitely the destination that I would go for! Below is another msnbc.com article which will let you know how incredible these islands may be for us:

"

By Lauren Sherman

Feel like you need an escape to a small, secluded spot where the BlackBerry won't get a signal? It might sound idyllic, but getting to a faraway place such as the Cook Islands, an archipelago in the South Pacific, isn't easy if you live anywhere other than Australia or New Zealand. For those traveling from Los Angeles, it takes at least 15 hours to find your way to the main island, Rarotonga.

But it's worth the schlep. For some, the draw is the turquoise lagoon — arguably the bluest in the world — that was named one of the most "unforgettable places to see before you die" by travel photographer and writer Steve Davey. For others, the privacy and pampering are more than enough.

At the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa, located on the tiny island of Motu Akitua, a two-minute ferry ride from Aitutaki, visitors enjoy the lagoon almost completely undisturbed. The entire resort has just four bungalows and one villa. Rates start at an affordable $210 per couple, per night, in the low season.

Indeed, while fewer of us may be traveling this year — 70 percent of business travelers, for example, predict that they'll be cutting back on 2009 trips, according to a recent survey by Alexandria, Va.-based Association of Corporate Travel Executives — those who can still afford to get away should consider a faraway escape. Not only are hotel rates less expensive than last year, but the price of airfare has dropped, which means travelers can milk more value out of the dollar.

Despite the predicted downward travel trend, surprisingly, 25 percent of affluent travelers plan on taking more leisure trips in 2009 than they did in 2008, while 94 percent plan on spending the same or more on leisure travel in 2009 than they did last year, according to an August 2008 survey conducted by Orlando, Fla.-based marketing firm Y Partnership. Surveyors interviewed more than 2,100 leisure travelers with an annual household income of $150,000 or more.

Being a Father Battle Ground CPA

While most people tend to believe that the economical recession is about to end, the truth is that I am not that optimistic about it and so I honestly think that is extremely important that we get the best accounting and consulting services for our companies, making it possible for us to grant their financial stability.

As a matter of fact, I would say that being a Father Battle Ground CPA won’t be difficult if you make sure that you always get the most complete and secure advice from certified public accounting (CPA) companies such as the one that you are able to find on the link above…

So, why don’t you consider the possibility of protecting your business or company by hiring the best services from the best CPA and consulting firm?

A new concept of Priceline

Have you ever been to the best hotels in the world and experienced how luxurious they are? If you never had the chance to do it or if you thought the prices would never be accessible for you, then it is about time that you think twice about it! As you may read on the msnbc.com article below, the tendence is for the prices to continue to drop even on the best Hotels:

"
By Sean O'Neill
This recession may be Priceline's finest moment because of the especially deep savings it is offering on hotel rooms and hotel/resort packages booked through its "name-your-own-price" feature.

Here's why: American hotel owners have struggled since the 2001 recession to boost their room rates back up to the profitable levels of the 1990s. Today, they're reluctant to cut their advertised rates. Many hotels are turning to Priceline to deeply discount their rates up to half off and fill their empty beds — without starting a price war.

No wonder that Priceline is probably the largest seller of hotels in the U.S. today. (I can't say for sure that it's the largest because Travelocity is a private company and doesn’t publicize its numbers, though I'm skeptical that Travelocity is number one.)

Priceline has changed a lot in the past couple of years. If you haven't used the site lately, you may have missed some of its recent innovations.

Did you know, for instance, that Priceline lets you "blind book" air/resort packages? You don't have to place a bid because Priceline tells you the total price of a package plus the name of the resort. The twist is that Priceline doesn't tell you the name of the airline or the departure time for the plane tickets automatically packaged with the deal. You will, however, be told the number of layovers and the airports you'll be stopping at, plus the window for flight departures (between 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.). If the flight doesn't work, you can choose from other available flight options. The package will usually cost less than the price of the flight and hotel room booked separately. Savings can total 50 percent.

Interested in just booking a hotel? Here are some up-to-date strategies for making the most of Priceline:

Hotels
While Priceline is a full-fledged booking engine, it's most valuable for its bidding system. As you may know, you don't learn the hotel (or airline, car-rental company or vacation package details) until your bid has been accepted and your credit card has been charged. You'll find out whether your bid has been accepted instantly. (In the past, it took quite a while to hear back.)

Our advice: Research neighborhoods in advance, and consider choosing neighborhoods in financial districts. Right now, Priceline's best deals appear to be for business and upscale hotels.

Finding some new friends

Even though I am a traveler and I tend to find many persons that fascinate me while I am traveling all around the world, the truth is that I have always loved to share some music and experiences with punks as I also consider myself a punk too! Furthermore, there is a cool option by the name of “Browse Users” on the top of the page that will immediately allow you to get an idea of who is online and who isn’t, making sure that you are always informed about who is online.

So, if you are a punk or if you feel like meeting some punks, why don’t you take some of your time and visit the website to which I have linked above? I am sure that chat room will really come in handy for you when you finally decide to make some new friends!

New airline pricing...

While most people believe that this is not the best time to travel around the world, the truth is that I deffend exactly the opposite! As a matter of fact, now that the economy is still trying to find its way to the stability that it always had in the past, the airlines and most Hotels are offering us better prices to fight crisis... Below is another msnbc.com article which will you help you understand the situation:

Whether you call the practice à la carte pricing or nickel-and-diming passengers, the fees most airlines now charge for everything from food and drinks to checked bags aren't going away. With far fewer people flying because of the economy — especially business travelers — many carriers are counting on this revenue more than ever.

"The airlines are doing it because they can't raise fares," says Michael Boyd, president of aviation consulting firm Boyd Group International.

And the companies have found that add-ons can be very profitable. In fact, à la carte pricing has become so successful that analysts are predicting airlines may soon institute the even more nitpicky menu-pricing structure that's been helping Air Canada survive since 2004. For all of its flights, Air Canada offers four fare options, each with a different set of extras, such as a free checked bag or an on-board food voucher. Customers can then add or subtract other services — forgo frequent-flier miles and save $3, for instance, or pay $30 to access the airline's lounges.

For now, most carriers in the U.S. simply say they are sticking with the à la carte approach and considering tacking on more fees in the year to come. So what does this mean for passengers? "

JetBlue Airways Corp. gives the example

Do you honestly believe that airlines are not always doing their best in order to respect and protect their costumers? Well, some may not do it but the truth is that JetBlue Airways Corp. is definitely showing us that they really care about the financial stability of their costumers as you may read on the msnbc.com article just below:

"

NEW YORK - JetBlue Airways Corp. said Tuesday it will issue full refunds to eligible customers who lose their jobs after purchasing tickets.

Customers who book flights between Feb. 1 and June 1 and lose their jobs on or after Feb. 17 may be eligible for the JetBlue Promise Program. JetBlue fares are generally nonrefundable.

Customers must notify JetBlue and request a full refund at least two weeks before the first day of travel. The customer who purchased the flight can request a refund for up to nine customers traveling on one reservation.

The program is part of an effort to spur early bookings as consumers pull back on travel amid a gloomy economy.

In an e-mail to the Associated Press, Calyon Securities analyst Ray Neidl said he does not think the deal is unusual, noting some car rental companies already offer similar programs.

Who shall we blame for our industry's troubles?

Just as you know, some resorts around the world are having some financial difficulties because of the fact that they made some major investments and now with the current financial crisis, they don't seem to be able to recover it... Who shall we blame for this? Below is another msnbc.com article which I would like you to read and take some conclusions on this matter:

"

Travel writer

Oh, puh-leeze!

Oscar Goodman, the mayor of Las Vegas, is mad at President Barack Obama for singling out his city as a destination for junkets and other potentially dubious business trips.

James Tisch, CEO of Loews Corp., says Congress is “killing the resort hotel business” as companies cancel meetings and conferences (even legitimate ones) to avoid any whiff of extravagance that may trigger the government’s ire.

And Ed Bolen, president and CEO of the National Business Aviation Association, is angry at the government and the media for stereotyping his industry and “discouraging and disparaging the use of general aviation for business purposes.”

Anybody sensing a pattern here? Seems that when the going gets tough, the fingers start pointing.

I realize, of course, that the aforementioned gentlemen are advocates whose tasks include defending their constituents’ contributions to the world of travel. And considering that I'm essentially a travel advocate myself (as a travel writer, I obviously have a vested interest in the industry's health), I can certainly commiserate. Believe me, when your work is based on finding newsworthy stories, an industry in retreat is not a positive development.

Yet it really bugs me when industry spokespeople blame the messengers instead of addressing the underlying problems that got them in the messes they’re in. From canceled conferences to grounded business jets, there’s no escaping the fact that much of the damage has been self-inflicted.

The importance of hot cold-weather drinks

While most people tend to ignore the important role played by the Hot cold-weather drinks, the truth is that I am quite aware of the fact that without them, many cities couldn't keep up with their normal social trends. So, would you like to know where you may find them? Just below is an article which is available in full detail on msnbc.com and which will give you a better idea of where you will find these drinks and how good they are for warming us up!

By Sarah Stodola

Few things can warm the body and soul in the dead of winter quite like a steaming beverage, all the better if it’s made with brandy ... or bourbon or rye.

Scotch or rum will do just fine, as well. And with the rise of haute-cocktail culture, wintertime drinkers are ensured a bevy of non-alcoholic ingredients that accommodate the more potent components of a hot cocktail in the most sizzling way.

Cinnamon and cloves, apples and pears, bitters and sugars, chocolate and cream — these are the great supporting actors in the classic winter cocktail.

Of course, the perfect winter cocktail requires not only the ideal ingredients, but the ideal setting, as well. How much better does a mulled wine taste when sipped next to a crackling fire? How much better is that hot toddy after an exhilarating day on the slopes? We all know the answer.

Would you love to visit Las Vegas?

Las Vegas, the city of all sins and the city where anyone can really have a great time seems to be facing some problems these days as tourism is also affected by the current financial crisis. In fact, more and more people are willing to travel to this city as prices tend to get more accessible. Below, you may read an msnbc.com review and take your own conclusions:

"

LAS VEGAS - Sin City is worried that its well-honed style is crimping its business.

Born of carefully crafted slogans — "What happens here stays here" — and smiling, sequined showgirls, the image of a 24-hour adult Disneyland with free-flowing booze and casino chips is making the tourist destination seem radioactive to companies keen on not appearing frivolous as they seek government bailouts.

In the past two weeks, at least four major companies canceled meetings worth hundreds of thousands of dollars — not because of costs but because of appearances. Even President Barack Obama questioned the propriety of flying off to Las Vegas if taxpayers were helping foot the bill.

Tourism officials, already nervous after watching meeting and convention attendance decline 5 percent in 2008, are challenging the impression that business meetings are wasteful — especially those conducted under the neon lights of Las Vegas.

"It's necessary, for us to thrive in this community, that folks come here and realize that this is not some stepchild," Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman said. "This is a very important place for people to conduct very important business."

Goodman — who often appears at functions with a showgirl at each arm — sent a letter this week to Obama objecting to his remarks.

"

The importance of surveys

While most people tend to trust too much on the reviews that they see on the magazines and even on what they see on the TV, the truth is that when it comes the time to make a decision that is somehow related to my travels, I tend to create some online surveys so that I can get impressions from people who have been there and tried it!

Taking the most out of the best North American glacier getaways

Do you love to visit the top glacier getways in the world? What about those ones that you are able to see in the US too? The truth is that we often end up noticing that we tend to ignore the beauty of the places that we can find on the US and we simply travel to Europe and other destinations where we won't find half the beauty! In order to help you understand that, you may read the following msnbc.com article and take your own conclusions:

"

By Jonathan Ages

Gazing upon the cliff and glacier-strewn east coast of Canada’s Baffin Island, Dr. Garth D. Jackson squints as he locates himself on the tattered map in his hand. He is standing on a cruise ship deck, and the map of Canada’s High Arctic — which Jackson, 79, helped research decades ago — flaps in the breeze. His memories of the island before him have faded somewhat over time, like the map's yellowing paper, but there are certain glaring changes to the landscape.

“Some of the glaciers have obviously receded,” said Jackson, an intermittent member of the Canadian Geological Survey from 1965 through 1994. “A lot of Baffin Island’s valley glaciers are still there, but they don’t come as close to the water. And they’re not as thick. Rocks poke through the middle of them, and it wasn’t like that before.”

Jackson retraced some of his decades-old footsteps by chartering an Adventure Canada cruise ship with his family and roughly 90 other passengers. They admired bowhead whales and polar bears from the ship’s deck, explored the many fjords of Baffin Island and made stops ashore to hike the tundra, look for wildlife and visit local communities. There are other trips, too, including one that crosses the fabled Northwest Passage and retraces the paths of some of the world’s most notable (and ill-fated) explorers.

Traveling around the country

Just as you know, the current financial trends tend to make us feel a bit uncomfortable about spending too much money when we decide to travel to one of our favorite destinations. In fact, you can still travel and there is no need to pay as much as you used to do in the past as soon as you get to know what vacation rentals are all about!

The best ski resort restaurants for you to visit!

Do you love snow and the winter? Well, if that's the case, then you have tried some of the finest ski resorts in the world for sure! Still, have you ever tried their cuisine? This is exaclty what's being discussed on the article just below and which you are able to read in full detail on msnbc.com and which will give you a much clear idea of how impressed you will be when you try some of their food!

"

Apart from a bubbling hot tub with a champagne bucket chilling in the snow, few things can coax winter weary bones into another day on the mountain like a soul-warming feed.

In North America, ski food has long meant comfort food: steaming bowls of chili. Platters heaped with pasta meant to load you with carbs for the afternoon’s runs. And plates of messy nacho goodness enjoyed après-ski.

Over the past decade, however, ski towns across the country — from Killington to Lake Tahoe — have seen a food revolution with an eye on bringing classier fare to the slopes that’s evocative of the region while drawing on a European sense of refinement.

All that creativity in the kitchen is really upping the mountain-town ante. Forbes.com recently named Salt Lake City an up-and-coming culinary capital, putting the spotlight on the city’s local farmers and artisan cheese makers, bakers and chefs for “remaking the city’s culinary image.”

The importance of 100% natural remedies

Still, we are often surprised with unexpected situations where we end up not knowing what to do in order to overcome them and get our normal life back. In fact, that’s exactly what happened with my friend Melissa when she had problems with Genital Herpes and didn’t know which the best products for her to buy in order to solve her problem were… Fortunately, she ended up being told about “Forces of Nature”, which is the best place to find doctor recommended 100% natural remedies that will really play a very important role when you face problems related to Genital Herpes and other similar problems that tend to surprise us every now and then.

British Airways passenger jet collapsed

Just as it has been recently covered by all the Tv channels, more and more airlines are facing some difficulties in order to get over the current financial crisis and they often reduce the quality of their services in order to be able to overcome the situation. Still, sometimes things tend to go wrong and that's exaclty what happened in London today as you can read from the msnbc.com article below:

"

LONDON - The nosewheel of a British Airways passenger jet collapsed with a loud bang as the aircraft landed Friday at London City Airport, sending the plane scraping across the tarmac with 71 people aboard, officials and witnesses said.

All aboard escaped by emergency slides, but one person was taken to a hospital with a minor injury.

BA Flight 8456 was flying from Amsterdam to London when its front landing gear failed and the front wheel fell off.

"As a precaution the emergency slides were deployed and passengers were evacuated down the slides onto the runway," the airline said in a statement. "One passenger suffered a minor injury."

The airline said the Avro 146 RJ100 — made by BAE Systems — was carrying 67 passengers and four crew. London firefighters said accident happened around 8 p.m., and ambulance officials reported that four people were treated for minor injuries.

One of the passengers Ray Hamblin, said: "The front wheel collapsed, the cabin filled with smoke and everyone had to vacate from the rear of the plane. People were pretty calm at first but when the plane started to fill up with smoke, people were not moving fast enough and they got pretty fractious.

"

"As I came off the emergency slide I hit my wrist on the runway. I think there are a couple of people with cuts and scrapes."

Justin Fletcher, told the British Broadcasting Corp. that "there was obviously quite a loud bang as the plane scratched in. The stewards and stewardesses were quick to evacuate everyone off. There was a few scrapes and cuts due to hitting the asphalt. All in all everyone seems to be doing quite well now."

The importance of a business loan

While most people tend to ignore the possibility of bringing their businesses to the next level by taking full advantage of the current downturn, the truth is that I am quite aware of the fact that this is the best moment to invest on new features for our businesses!

As a matter of fact, if you have a look on the website above, you will see that you will be able to complete a quick enquiry and get a much faster approval, less stringent requirements, there are no closing fees or costs and your first month will be free! Furthermore, as more and more clients tend to pay with credit cards because of the current recession, then you should use your business loan in new credit card processing solutions, making sure that your business is not very affected by the current downturn…

Do you love basketball?

When thinking about the sports that we love, I would say that basketball could probably be the favorite one of most of us.... In fact, watching some sports on Tv or going to the stadiums and see it live are probably some of the best ways of forgetting about the current financial crisis! Below you may read an msnbc.com article telling you the story of the last Dallas' game:

"

DALLAS - Kevin Garnett was frustrated and sitting on the Boston bench after getting three fouls in a matter of seconds while battling with Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas’ lone All-Star.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers was already in the locker room because of the same sequence late in the third quarter, ejected after two quick technical fouls.

When Garnett finally returned with less then 5 minutes left, Paul Pierce had just given the Celtics their first lead. And they would go on to a physical 99-92 victory Thursday night over the Mavericks.

Pierce scored 18 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter, but gave plenty of credit to his argumentative coach.

“It gave us a nice little spark,” Pierce said. “It can go one of two ways. The coach is gone in the last game before the All-Star break, you can pack it in. But this group is very competitive. We’re going to fight.”

Boston (44-11), the defending champion, goes into the break with the most victories in the NBA. The Celtics won their ninth consecutive road game, even after trailing by as many as 15 points in the third quarter.

Pierce’s tiebreaking 11-footer gave the Celtics a 93-91 lead. At the other end, he took an elbow to the head from a charging Nowitzki, who was called for the foul. Then Pierce made another step-back jumper, from 14 feet, to seal the game.

“I got in my rhythm,” Pierce said. “We had a play that was working. I got into my sweet spot and took the shots.”

Boston never led until Pierce made a tying 13-foot jumper while being fouled by Howard with 5:37 left, then added the free throw to make it 85-84. After Nowitzki missed two shots, stretching his quarter-long drought to six misses in a row, Pierce hit two more free throws after Josh Howard’s sixth foul with 3:47 left.

“I’m going to take the blame for this. We played the Paul Pierce play different ways and had some of our best guys guarding him, but we should have double-teamed him,” Mavs coach Rick Carlisle said.

Nowitzki led Dallas with 37 and Howard had 17 before fouling out.

Ray Allen, playing a night after injuring his thumb in the Celtics’ victory at New Orleans, had 20 points and will play in the All-Star game still. Rajon Rondo had 19 points, 15 rebounds and 14 assists for his second career triple-double, both this season.

After Garnett was called for a non-shooting foul against Nowitzki with 2:27 left in the third quarter, they were exchanging words while setting up for the next play when official Dick Bavetta called a double technical against the two All-Stars.

Only 10 seconds later, Garnett got called for another foul — his fifth personal — and Rivers got a technical as Nowitzki turned around with a triumphant look on his face. After Nowitzki made the free throw and play resumed, Rivers was still arguing and got his second technical.

Important updates about travel industry

While most people tend to be unaware of the current situation on the travel industry, the truth is that most of us are losing a really good chance of discovering some new places for the best rates of the past few years! In fact, you may read the msnbc.com article below and witness that:

"

By Joe Brancatelli

The first weeks of every year bring a blizzard of travel industry data: fourth-quarter and full-year financial reports, granular traffic stats, analyst pronouncements and all sorts of statistical minutia.

It's rather dull stuff, frankly, but this year I plowed through it all with a single-minded determination to find the proverbial silver lining to the current collapse of travel.

No such luck.

The silver linings weren't just elusive. They were non-existent. See for yourselves:

Things are bad all over
If you harbored any lingering hopes that travel's woes were either shallow or segmented, forget it. Travel is in decline across the board.

Forty of the nation's 50 largest airports suffered a downturn in commercial aircraft departures. That's dreadful news considering the most recently released statistics only cover the 12 months ending last June — and the biggest cuts in airline capacity, about 10 percent, didn't come until after Labor Day. Despite that late-in-the-year seat capacity reduction as well as the sharp drop of fuel prices, the fourth quarter was calamitous for the nation's largest airlines. They lost a cumulative $1.5 billion before special charges and extraordinary items like fuel-hedging losses.

"

Getting some new exterior shutters

As a traveler who has already been in every corner of the world, I would say that the buildings and the architectural concept of the cities that I have visited were definitely what really kept most of my attention…

Keeping this in mind, as I am going to redecorate my house and buy some new exterior shutters, I have been looking for a company providing us with the most classic, highest quality and stylish exterior shutters available on the market! Fortunately, a friend told me about the website to which I have linked above and I couldn’t be happier with what is available for us to buy there! In fact, there is such a wide range of high quality exterior shutters that I am pretty sure that anyone will be able to find something they love. Moreover, until the end of the year, if you order your exterior shutters online, you will even be given free shipping! What else could we really ask for?

Do you plan to visit Las Vegas?

Are you planning to visit Las Vegas anytime soon? If that's the case, then I regret to inform you that there is less to be seen these days as you can discover by reading the msnbc.com review which is just below and gives you an idea of the dimension of the loss for the tourism in the sin city:

"

LAS VEGAS - The final curtain has fallen on the long-running Las Vegas female impersonators revue “An Evening at La Cage.”

Headliner Frank Marino and the rest of the cast were informed after Monday’s performance that the show was closing immediately, ending a nearly 24-year run.

Producer Norbert Aleman says that he is negotiating for a TV show and hopes to reopen the show that features Marino as Joan Rivers.

Riviera Hotel & Casino President Robert Vannucci says he “understands the economic pressures forcing the situation” and says the hotel hopes to announce a new show soon.

“La Cage” opened in September 1985 and became the fourth longest-running show on the Las Vegas Strip.

The Tropicana’s topless revue, “Les Folies Bergere” announced last month that it was closing March 28 after 49 years to make room for an undisclosed new production.

The importance of payday loans

While most people are facing the current financial crisis without the needed support, the truth is that me and my friend Sam are always covered by the possibility of getting payday loans so that we can pay our emergency bills and live a regular life!

Still, for all of you who have failed to find a good place where you can ask for a payday loan, then you should definitely have a look at the website above, where everyone is given the chance to apply online for a payday loan that will definitely come in handy…. Moreover, I would personally say that without the help of these payday loans, my friend Sam could never pay his new car! This gives you an idea of how important payday loans are these days.

A very special museum

Are you sick of the old museums that you normally visit and where you tend to see all the paintings and art that you have always seen before? If that's the case, then you probably need to try something new and that's exacly why you should condider the possibility being reviewed just below by an msnbc.com article:

"

TURNER, Maine - If there's a heaven for snowmobiles, it's in an unobtrusive western Maine warehouse whose owner calls it the state's best-kept secret.

Shiny, restored power sleds dating back a half-century line the shelves of the United Sports Antique & Vintage Snowmobile Museum. They include long-discontinued brands, rare if not one-in-the-world models, behemoths pushed by rear engines, and one that would work well in a James Bond flick with its exhaust pipes jutting menacingly from the front hood.

Ski Cat, Sno-Pony, Ski Whiz, Fox Trac, Swinger, Gilson, and even the only snowmobile ever manufactured in Maine, Whippet, are represented in Paul Bernier's museum, located modestly behind his snowmobile accessories showroom.

Bernier is constantly adding new models to his collection, now closing in on 300, and rotates the displays so all get properly featured. This offers repeat visitors a new experience every time they return, said Bernier, 52, whose own fascination with power sleds goes back to his childhood.

"I call this the most diversified museum. ... I do the old rear engine, I do the race sleds, I do the sled that you had when you were a kid. So anything unique, I'm looking for it," said Bernier.

In one form or another, snowmobiles have been around since the early 1900s, often used in their earlier days as work vehicles for utilities, ski areas and loggers. A machine that's been described as a powered toboggan fitted with skis was patented in the late '20s, and by the 1970s more than 200 brands were on the market. The total is now less than a half dozen, Bernier said.

Bernier has built his inventory to 70 makes and is constantly looking for more. There are other collectors and museums in the United States and Canada, but believes his is the most diversified.

Companies testing Internet systems

Just as you know from your own experience, getting Internet access on the airports is not a very easy task and that's exaclty why many airports are now doing their best in order to make it possible for the airlines to make sure that Internet access is given to everyone who flies with them... I would like you to read another msnbc.com article just below and which explains the situation with full detail:

"

Southwest Airlines Co. has started testing wireless Internet access aboard one of its jets with plans to expand the test by early next month.

Southwest said Tuesday that the test will last a few months and eventually include four aircraft.

During the test, passengers will be able to log on free using their own laptop or smart phone — cellular technology won't work.

Southwest is waiting for approval from the Federal Communications Commission to offer service beyond the trial.

Airlines are rushing to add Internet service on flights to raise revenue and give passengers something else to do.

Dallas-based Southwest is using technology from Row 44, which provides Internet service through a satellite link. American Airlines and other carriers are using technology that connects Internet users through ground-based signals.

Southwest said it is working with Yahoo Inc. to offer a homepage with “destination-relevant content” during the flight.

"
