The importance of loans in our lives

When considering all my experience as a businesswoman, I would personally say that financial stability tends to play an extremely important role because both companies and individuals need to make sure that they are always able to financially stable when it comes the time to face a financial crisis or simply when we decide to bring our company to the next level and buy some important components, hire new services, etc.

Keeping this in mind, it is often difficult for us to have all the needed money to cover a new investment or pay our bills, meaning that we may need to ask for some external help. As a matter of fact, rapid cash loans come to my mind as the most reliable and secure option for anyone looking for fast cash!

Personally, I have already used some rapid cash loans in the past when I needed to pay some unexpected bills and also when I decided to add some glamour to my house by buying some new furniture, equipment, etc. Moreover, sometimes I consider the possibility of getting some other loans just as it happened to me last month when I have also considered the possibility of getting another because I discovered that I would be unable to respect the monthly budget, making it absolutely mandatory that I would need to get some financial help…

So, would you also like to apply for a loan and get some important financial help that will help you face the future? If that’s the case, then I would personally advise you to take some time and visit the website to which I have linked just above.

Disney offering free entries to volunteers

Have you always wanted to visit Disney and discover more great things about the old stories that you have always loved? If you have been looking for the perfect moment when you would do it for free, then you will be glad to know that Disney is preparing something special as you may confirm by reading the msnbc.com article just below:

"

NEW YORK - Disney is offering a free day's admission to 1 million guests who complete a day of volunteer work next year.

The "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" program will provide certified volunteers with a one-day ticket to any park at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., or Walt Disney World near Orlando, Fla., in 2010.

Would-be volunteers must register online with Disney and must be residents of the U.S., Canada or Puerto Rico to be eligible for the free admission.

Disney is partnering with HandsOn Network, a clearinghouse for volunteer opportunities, to connect people with projects and to certify that the work was done.

"We are trying to inspire 1 million people to volunteer in their communities and we're inspiring them to do that by giving them a free day at a Disney park," Jay Rasulo, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said in a phone interview with The Associated Press.

Rasulo called the promotion "very timely," citing the increased needs of nonprofits in the weak economy, as well as President Barack Obama's national volunteering initiative.

Duncan Dickson, who teaches theme park management at the University of Central Florida's Rosen School of Hospitality Management in Orlando, said the volunteer initiative is "a smart marketing move."

Dickson said Disney will get good buzz for encouraging volunteerism plus free publicity from the nonprofits that benefit. And even when theme parks let people in for free, they make their money back in other ways, Dickson said.

"You make a lot of money in popcorn and T-shirts and other things," Dickson said.

Top destinations of U.S travelers

Recession may be a real menace for many of us US citizens but the truth is that many US travelers have taken full advantage of the current financial trends to travel all around the world! In fact, you may read the msnbc.com article just below and discover some of the destinations that tend to attract large groups of US travelers:

In a year when economic indicators took Grand Canyon-sized plunges, it should come as no surprise that fewer Americans jetted off to foreign lands than they did the previous year.

What may be surprising is that the decline in U.S. outbound travel wasn't worse: Overall, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Office of Travel and Tourism Industries (OTTI), American travelers to foreign countries totaled 63.6 million in 2008, the last full year statistics are available, just a 1 percent decrease compared to 2007.

Whether the downward trend will continue throughout 2009 remains to be seen, but indicators are pointing toward further decreases. OTTI's data through May of this year show an overall 7.7 percent decrease compared with the same time frame in 2008.

Japan National Tourism Organization spokesperson Nori Akashi says Japan is “expecting just a flat line of the number of U.S. travelers this year.” Oscar Fitch, CEO of the Mexico Tourism Board, says Mexico had “a slight reduction of international visitors (1.9 percent) from January to May 2009.”

However, the ranking of overseas destinations is likely to be unchanged.

In many ways, the list of Americans' favorite destination countries looks similar to the way it did the last time Forbes Traveler checked in with OTTI — its figures for 2006, that halcyon era when the word "bailout" still conjured boats instead of banks.

Once again, proximity reigned, as neighbors Mexico and Canada topped OTTI's list of American destination nations. Mexico saw a 4 percent increase compared with 2007, while Canada welcomed 7 percent fewer American visitors than the previous year.

Fitch attributes the increase in Americans' travel to Mexico to the southern neighbor's "added value, proximity and diversity."

In tight economic times, Fitch adds, "Mexico's proximity to the U.S. and Canada makes it a perfect choice for North Americans seeking shorter vacations or destinations closer to home ... [and] Mexico offers travelers more value for their money, regardless of their budget."

"The quantity and quality of Mexico's tourism offerings," Fitch says, "enable the country to satisfy the needs and tastes of all tourism segments." He said CancĂșn, Mexico City and Los Cabos were the top three destinations visited by Americans last year. However, 2009 visitor numbers may be seriously affected by fears of the swine flu pandemic that broke out there in the spring of this year.

Even so, Mexico was one of the few winners in year-to-year comparisons. Several overseas destinations, like Italy and Germany, showed steep year-to-year declines, with 18 and 17 percent decreases in the number of American travelers that visited the countries in 2008 compared with the previous year.

Japan, too, experienced a notable slowdown in American travel, dropping seven percent from OTTI's figures for 2007.

"The major factor is definitely the economic slowdown," says Akashi. "Almost 50 percent of the U.S. travelers to Japan are business travelers, and the recession caused business trip cancellations to Japan as well."

Akashi adds that airline service changes also had an impact: "Some nonstop services to Japan have been canceled due to the business shift to China and the airline industry's financial slowdown."

For the 1.6 million Americans who did make it to the Land of the Rising Sun, Akashi says Tokyo was their No. 1 destination — 5.34 million people visited the capital.

In Germany, where 22 percent of American travelers visit on business, the weakened economy meant that an "upward trend that had endured around the world since 2003 was suddenly turned on its head [as] business trips were hit especially hard," according to the German National Tourist Board. Meanwhile, the top European destination for U.S. travelers — the United Kingdom — has a steady stream of tourists.

Some new party ideas for us!

Just as you probably know from your own experience, parties tend to provide us with some of the best moments in our lives! As a matter of fact, we should do our best in order to invite our friends every now and then so that we can party like there was no tomorrow, making sure that we live some memorable moments! So, if you are looking for new party ideas, read the following ideas on the msnbc.com article:

"

In movies and lore, the bachelor party blowout is all but synonymous with exotic dancers and heavy partying. But today's best men are lining up different fetes for the groom-to-be, planning elaborate destination parties that don't include wild nights on the town. That's not to say that the traditional Las Vegas blowout is a thing of the past. "Vegas is still king, says Jake Schraufnagel, publisher of Today's Groom. “But more best men are arranging whitewater rafting trips, golf weekends and other extreme vacations.”

According to the most recent U.S. census, Americans are staying single for nearly five more years than their parents did. The average man walks down the aisle when he's 27.1-years-old; a quarter century ago, he would've been 23.2-years-old. (For women, it's 25.8 and 20.8, respectively.) This may explain why bachelor parties are changing, says Schraufnagel. "As the groom and his friends get older, they can afford a memorable weekend getaway for a bachelor party. Having more disposable income is a huge deciding factor in the bachelor party festivities"

Older grooms-to-be may also have different priorities than their younger counterparts. "A younger groom may have younger attendees who are single themselves with no wife to answer to at the end of the bachelor party," says Schraufnagel. "Guys are using the bachelor party as a reunion and a great opportunity to introduce new friends of the groom's to old friends from the past." The focus, then, shifts from a night at the strip club to a weekend to remember with the guys.

Almost 90 years after Zane Grey's "Tales of an Angler's El Dorado" thrust New Zealand's sportfishing into the global spotlight, God Zone remains a 'must-do' on any angler's bucket list. If the thought of a 10-pound brown trout slurping a dry fly in crystal-clear waters gets your groom-to-be's heart pumping, let the Kiwis show you the piscine riches that have made the country famous.

December, January, and February, are the best months to hook a pig on a dry fly — giving you a great excuse to leave sleet and snow behind. Base yourself at Owen River Lodge, where you'll have easy access to more than 30 streams and rivers with countless other options for helicopter fly-in opportunities. When you're not on the water, you won't be roughing it. Guests cottages line the 16-acre property's gardens and offer sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. And when it's mealtime, the lodge's chef will have you sampling the best cuisine New Zealand has to offer, using produce grown organically on-site.

It has been 40 years since the Florida Keys were a counterculture hotbed. Today, you're more likely to find Midwestern tourists with fanny packs than hippies in Volkswagen vans. One thing that has stayed the same is the glut of fishing opportunities in the waters surrounding the islands. Bonefish, tarpon and permit on the flats, or billsfish and wahoo offshore? But if you and your buddies like to dive and are looking for a new thrill, head to the Keys to try your hand at spear fishing in the area's waters. Key West-based Spearfishing Charters runs day and overnight trips to the virgin reefs scattered throughout the Marquesas Keys and The Dry Tortugas. Purists can ditch the tanks and hunt fish on a free-dive, chasing fish in 60-feet-deep waters as fast as your fins will carry you.

If warm-water sport isn't the groom-to-be's idea of a bachelor party blowout, options abound in the cold and wild. Grab your ice axe, crampons and ropes—and hook up with one of Iceland's many guides who know how to conquer the glaciers that cover 11 percent of this small island nation. Routes are available for all ability levels, but beware of Icelandic understatement when choosing your climbs. While Icelanders grade their routes using the same scale as climbers in the States, routes tend to be rated lower than comparable pitches in the U.S. When you've had your fill of scaling waterfalls, there's always a party going on in Reykjavik, the lively capital.

And if your bachelor is absolutely set on gambling during his last hurrah, then do it right. Monaco's famed Casino de Monte Carlo, located in the French Riviera on the Mediterranean Sea, is a gambling icon. The inspiration for the setting of Ian Fleming's first James Bond novel, this casino has been giving guests thrills at the tables since 1863. When your party is ready for a rush in fresh air, the Alps are just a short helicopter ride away, and Heli Air Monaco will have you hitting the slopes with Europe's jet set in no time.

Regardless of which high-octane getaway you choose, the best advice is: Start planning now. "With so many schedules to coordinate," says Jake Schraufnagel, "you need three to four months in advance if you are planning to travel."

As a businesswoman who doesn’t have much time to go out with some friends, I often find it obvious that it is important that I play some iPhone games whenever I have some free time at work, allowing me to feel entertained and amazed with the addiction that comes with those games!

Keeping this in mind, I often play Blades of Fury with the help of my iPhone because I am a fan of this kind of adventure game that tends to be a single-player game though. Discovering Montenegro

Even considering the fact that Montenegro is famous for its beaches and the amazing views in the cities, the truth is that there are also many other great things to be discovered in Montenegro as you may confirm by reading the msnbc.com article just below, which will help you out finding something new to do in one of the most beautiful countries in the world:

"

By Rick Steves
Tribune Media Services

There's a buzz among travelers that humble little Montenegro is becoming a new Mediterranean hot spot. Once part of Yugoslavia and then part of Serbia, this tiny mountainous nation on the Adriatic achieved independence only recently, in 2006. This summer my film crew and I set out to capture the country for a public television show.

For me, rugged and forested Montenegro — tucked away in the Balkans — used to evoke the fratricidal chaos of a bygone age. It made me think of a time when fathers taught their sons "your neighbor's neighbor is your friend" in anticipation of future sectarian struggles. My recent visit changed my view. My impressions — of impressive infrastructure improvements, a welcoming tourist trade, well-educated young people and an enthusiasm for Europe — left me feeling the country is on an upward trajectory. Still, the Montenegrin road is bumpy.

Montenegro has a pretty coast but the country is pretty light on sights. I'm fond of Cetinje, the scruffy but historic former capital. Tourists flock to the Budva Riviera, Montenegro's best stretch of sandy beaches, with the famous resort peninsula of Sveti Stefan.

Probably the most dramatic stretch of its Adriatic coastline is the Bay of Kotor and its delightful town of Kotor. People love to call the bay "fjord-like." Too many people who say "fjord-like" have never really seen a fjord. If you've been to Norway, you know it's rare that something routinely described as "fjord-like" actually is. But the Bay of Kotor is worthy of the description.

The tourist board put my film crew in an "emerging hotspot" designer hotel on the Bay of Kotor. It was so elite and exclusive that I expected to see Idi Amin poolside. (Actually, he's dead ... but I thought it would be cool if they had a blow-up version of him just parked next to the pool on a lounge chair.)

The hotel, open just a month, was a comedy of horrible design. We felt like we were the first guests. My bathroom was far bigger than many European hotel rooms — but the toilet was jammed in the corner. I had to tuck up my knees to fit between it and the sink cabinet. A big Jacuzzi tub for two dominated the room. I am certain there wasn't enough hot water available to fill it. I doubt it will ever be used, except for something to look at as you're crunched up on the toilet.

When we left the glitz of Kotor, the country stretched out before us — a basin defined by a ring of dark mountains, Montenegro's heartland. Exploring the poorest corner of any European country can be eye opening — but Montenegro's is more evocative than most.

We came to a village that looked like it had no businesses at all. Then a man took us into a big, blocky, white building resembling a giant Monopoly house. He opened the door and we stepped inside, under tons of golden ham aging peacefully. It was a smokehouse — jammed with five layers of hanging ham hocks. Our Montenegrin friend stoked up his fire, filled the place with smoke, and we filmed. More industry than you realize hides out in sleepy villages.

I spoke with some of the locals about their experiences growing up in Yugoslavia (which broke apart in the 1990s). They have generally good memories of the times. Marshal Tito (its strong-arm dictator who didn't always follow Moscow's lead) is remembered in a single phrase: "He said 'No' to Stalin." Not all the bonds have been cut. People in most of the former Yugoslavia speak what used to be called Serbo-Croatian (or Croato-Serbian, depending on your ethnicity). Today the languages are all essentially the same but, as required by each new country's constitution, they are called Bosnian, Montenegrin, Serbian and Croatian.

Despite any language barriers, we had some great people moments. When we dropped in on a mountaintop Serbian-Orthodox monastery, the monks (their long black beards matching their long black robes) joked with us, saying, "You look suspicious with no beards." In prepping them for my interview, I said part of our TV-production mission was to help Americans understand, rather than fear, people who are different.

In the middle of this Montenegrin nowhere, we met an American family traveling with their 91-year-old grandmother. We shared stories of beautiful times we've enjoyed and lessons we've learned getting to know the people in this region. The grandma said, "Traveling in places like this inspires me to keep going when I should be staying home."

Most tourists stick to Montenegro's scenic and increasingly glitzy Bay of Kotor. It's certainly worth a visit, but for a Back Door experience, head deep into the rugged interior of Montenegro.

Keeping this in mind, if you still love to get the best hotel rooms all around the world, then you definitely need to read the msnbc.com article just below and discover a top 5 of some of the most luxurious hotels all around the world:

"

SINGAPORE - Small can definitely be beautiful, with boutique hotel specialists and booking service Mr. & Mrs. Smith listing its five favorite properties around the world. (This list is not endorsed by Reuters.)

Casa Tua, Miami
There's no sign above the door of this intimate hideaway, and it's screened from the street by wrought-iron railings and lush vegetation, but everyone knows where Casa Tua is. It has won acclaim for its excellent Italian-fusion restaurant and draws Miami's in-crowd to its exclusive members-only lounge bar. In each of the five guest rooms, which have a separate entrance, heavy cream drapes, soft white Bellora linens, rich dark woods and carefully chosen art pieces suggest rigorous editing and impeccable taste. White marble gleams in the bathrooms, and little balconies jut jauntily out over the garden greenery.

Lone Star Restaurant & Hotel, Barbados, Caribbean
This one-time petrol station has much more to offer than finessed world cuisine and a celebrity cast list, however; its four impeccably appointed suites offer a brand of luxury Caribbean accommodation with a refreshingly personal touch and a quirky designer eye. This Barbados hotel sustains a smart palette of blue, white and mahogany throughout. There are playful touches, too: huge gilt silver mirrors lean against palm trees on the talc-white beach, waiters and waitresses flit around the restaurant — dubbed 'the Ivy of the Caribbean' by British restaurant critic Michael Winner — in mechanics overalls in a throwback to the hotel's garage roots.

Casa 32, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
Owned and run by a friendly and welcoming family — Senhor Lucio knows Rio inside out — this historic mansion at the foot of Rio's iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer is the ideal eye-opener for jaded hotel hoppers.
A succession of art lovers and collectors have owned and passed through Casa 32 over the generations, and their legacy is visible in the stunning baroque carvings, impressive murals and hand-painted rococo tiles. Modern touches also abound, too. Both suites (yes, there are only two) exhibit swish designer furniture and a sensitive contemporary color scheme. The looks may be lavish, but the atmosphere's as homely and intimate as it gets.

Thirty Two, Cotswolds, Britain
A four-room, five-star boutique bed and breakfast in Cheltenham, on the edge of Britain's largest designated area of natural beauty, Thirty Two serves up historic splendor with a huge dose of lofty-proportioned Regency-era gorgeousness. Its style-savvy owners, both former London-dwellers, run an interior-design company from the house, and Thirty Two is an impeccable blend of ancient and Noughties furniture, original fittings and stylish stand-out pieces collected from around the world. Perched on the fringes of the main Imperial Square gardens, this grand townhouse is the ideal romantic country escape for two.

Crossing Condotti, Rome
Sandwiched between some of Rome's most fashionable shopping streets, the entrance to Crossing Condotti is as discreet as a royal bodyguard. Up on the first floor, this beautifully restored apartment building has been transformed into an independent traveler's home away from home, mixing contemporary comforts with conversation-piece furnishings from the owners' private collection. Warm parquet floors, beamed ceilings, ecru walls and enough paintings to fill a small room in the Galleria Borghese give Crossing Condotti a characterful, luxe-apartment vibe. This boutique hotel in central Rome may not provide B&B or food, but what it does offer is the rare opportunity to feel like a resident of the Eternal City.

Business travel may play an important role in the economy

Keeping in mind all my experience as a businesswoman, I would personally consider that business travel really plays an important role on the companies but also on the economy for two simple reasons: it allows workers to enjoy some relaxing moments in cities that they had never been before and on the other hand it boosts the profit of the travel agencies, making sure that one important sector of the economy is profiting. Below you may read the msnbc.com article na discover these reasons with much more detail:

"

—Business travel — often the target for cutbacks by companies cutting costs — actually boosts profits and could help the U.S. economy come back from the recession, a report found on Tuesday.

Research released by the global research firm Oxford Economics estimated that for every dollar invested in business travel, companies can expect an average $12.50 in increased revenue and $3.80 in new profits.

"Cutting back on business travel can in the short run have some benefits but, even over a 12-month period, (have) significant negative effects on corporate performance," said Adam Sacks, managing director of Oxford Economics. "As companies perform, so does the U.S. economy.

"When companies reduce their travel budgets, there are negative consequences that we can now quantify, in terms of lost revenue and profit growth and in terms of giving competitors a distinct advantage."

The study was commissioned in part by the U.S. Travel Association, which represents the American travel industry.

Roger Dow, president of the association, said the report quantified how businesses can benefit from travel and from face-to-face meetings.

The analysis said executives and business travelers estimated 28 percent of current business would be lost without in-person meetings. They said about 40 percent of prospective customers are converted to new customers with an in-person meeting compared to 16 percent without one.

"In this economy especially, business travel has come under greater scrutiny than before," Dow told reporters.

"It's very important that business travel be seen as a solution. This industry could lead the economy out of the recession if people begin traveling and doing business."

The industry group said in the first six months of 2009, business travel spending is down 12.5 percent and business travel volume is down more than 6 percent.

Sacks said a 10 percent increase in business travel across the board could potentially boost U.S. gross domestic product between 1.5 percent to 2.8 percent.

The report was based on a combination of two separate surveys of corporate executives and business travelers and an econometric analysis of the effects of business travel on corporate performance. It covered 14 economic sectors over a span of 13 years.

The report comes as the world airlines announced they expect to post $11 billion in losses this year due to weak passenger traffic and cargo demand pressure revenue.

Experts claim that airline workers may spread swine flu

When considering the fact that the swine flu may easily be spread all around the world if we don't handle this situation carefully, it is obvious that experts are already trying to discover how it can easily be spread and how that can be prevented. Below you may read an original msnbc.com article and discover what experts think that may happen with airline workers:

"

WASHINGTON - Airline employees who report to work ill are more likely than sick passengers to spread infections such as the H1N1 swine flu virus aboard airplanes, with low-paid workers posing the greatest danger, a U.S. government expert said on Thursday.

Dr. Michael Bell, an expert on infectious disease with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said flight attendants and other employees who move through aircraft can leave germs on any number of surfaces, while sick passengers could be more likely to remain stationary.

But the greatest threat could come from a low-paid airline contractors, such as cleaners, if slim wages and poor benefits make it difficult for them to take a sick day.

"That individual may be just as effective at spreading infection as anybody else," Bell told a meeting sponsored by the independent National Research Council on the role that airports and aircraft play in transmitting disease.

Public health officials ask sick people not to travel and risk spreading infection to others and advise ill workers to stay home as well.

"The way we help employees not to be sources of transmission is pretty complex because there's such a variation between the resources those people have," said Bell, who is an associate director for infection control at the CDC.

"With contract staff in many ways being a larger part of the work force, it becomes tricky," he added.

The question of infection aboard airliners and in airports has become a major concern in the United States, where public health officials are bracing for a surge of H1N1 swine flu cases as cooler autumn temperatures take hold in the Northern Hemisphere.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is urging air carriers to emphasize personal hygiene among workers and passengers, particularly hand-washing, as health officials await the first delivery of H1N1 flu vaccine later this month.

Commercial airliners have air filters that can trap pathogens and prevent them from spreading through the plane's ventilation system.

Great things to do with our children during the Winter

Now that the summer is almost gone, do you honestly think that the fun has to come to an end? If that's the case, then you definitely need to read the msnbc.com article just below and discover a lot of amazing things to do during this Fall and during the Winter that will surely keep both you and your children entertained:

" By Eileen Ogintz
Tribune Media Services

So what if you're toting a stroller and diaper bag or home-school assignments, while everyone else is waiting for the school bus and arranging car pools?

You and your kids can fly down the alpine coaster at Park City Mountain Resort, party with the "Sesame Street" gang at Beaches resorts in the Caribbean, explore nature with Appalachian Mountain Club guides in New England or learn crafts (ever see a barrel being made?) in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the gateway to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The best part — besides the great deals everywhere — "There are no lines at anything," whether you are heading to a theme park or a new museum exhibit, says San Diego mom and blogger Sugar Jones, who is homeschooling her 7-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son this year so that they can continue to travel, learning as they go at butterfly gardens, museums and mountaintops. (Follow their adventures at Sugar in the Raw.)

See how much fun science can be at Kid City, designed for young children at San Diego's Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. Also in kid-friendly San Diego, your kids are the ideal age for Legoland, the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park and SeaWorld, not to mention the beach. A number of museums in Balboa Park — where the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center is located — have special programs for young kids and, of course, there's the park's miniature railroad and carousel. SEA LIFE Aquarium just celebrated its first birthday and is especially geared toward younger children. Look for discount tickets at Costco.

You'll find plenty for young kids at museums and aquariums around the country. Visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium's "Splash Zone," join a family program at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York or check out the new Ryan Education Center at the Art Institute of Chicago. The kids will love the new Curious Corner interactive games. (I'm a fan of citypass.com for deeply discounted admissions to major city sites and museums that also enable you to bypass the lines.)

While her older brother settles back into school in Colorado. I'm going to introduce my 4-year-old cousin, Hannah Sitzman, to the wonders of the Big Apple, that irrepressible book character Eloise who lives at the Plaza Hotel, Broadway (buy one get a second ticket free to ShrektheMusical in September and even a special children's tea at the Russian Tea Room). (More about our girls' adventure in a future column.)

Go within a tank of gas from home for travel ideas, AAA's Fuel Cost Calculator to figure out how much it will cost to get there or hop a flight (nonstop with young kids whenever possible) or Cheapflights' Kids Airport Diversion Guide). (Look for flight credits, like the Fantastic Flight $150 credits just announced for flights to St. Croix. Air Tahiti Nui continues to offer kids-fly-free deals.

Wherever you go this fall, don't over plan. You've got plenty of time for naps and pool fun at places like the Great Wolf Lodges, which offer indoor water parks and special deals for those with "Wolf Pups." Or find a playground by checking out KaBOOM! to find play spaces where you are visiting.

Relax — and save even more — if you opt for a place with a kitchen. (Look at the deals from HomeAway.com where you'll find Orlando condos and Cape Cod digs starting at under $100 a night. You can find city apartments everywhere from New York to Paris, too.) Get a condo in Park City, Utah, for well under $100 a night. Campgrounds and RV parks are continuing to plan activities and special events throughout September, October and even into early November.

Go with family or friends and you'll not only save more by splitting costs, but you might be able to split child care so you get some adult time. (Check out sittercity.com for a network of experienced babysitters, complete with references for wherever you are going.)

Seek out a family-friendly bed and breakfast near a local attraction — like the Lafayette Inn in Easton, Pa., near the Crayola Factory — or a family-oriented festival, like the Children's Book Festival that will be held in the Cayman Islands later this fall.

Want to play in the leaves? Throughout foliage season, the Appalachian Mountain Club offers kid 2-for-1 lodging discounts for two kids when they're accompanied by an adult at all five of its lodges located around national forests and state parks in New Hampshire and Maine. Seek out a state park (Georgia has five, for example) or a national park near your home and see what special family programs they might be offering.

Look for free nights, free kids meals and camp in Palm Beach where you can also take advantage of free greens fees, tennis, fitness classes and more. Look for deals touting free attraction admission too like at the Seaport Hotel in Boston where you can get tickets to the Boston Children's Museum and the restaurant is transformed for an early dinner with plenty of toys.

Look for special programming and pricing for young families, too. Beaches' four Caribbean resorts welcome pint-sized vacationers with a special Fall-O-Ween funhouse, costume parties, Little Tyke dance parties and drive-in movies. You can give back, too, by bringing a gently-used children's book for local kids or joining special eco projects, receiving as much as 65 percent off the cost of your stay. Aston Hotels in Hawaii promise kids stay, play and eat free with free admission to top island attractions and meals at local restaurants. At Smuggler's Notch in Vermont, meanwhile, day care is half-price, you can get a free night and there are all kinds of activities from guided hikes to mini golf to an indoor Fun Zone.

See you on the beach. I'll be the one writing giant E's in the sand.

Even considering the fact that cars tend to play a very important role in our lives, the truth is that they shouldn’t really be a menace to our financial stability, which means that we must do everything possible in order to find the best deals on car insurance.

Keeping this in mind, I would personally like to advise all of you living in Sidney to check out these cheap car insurance sydney deals that will definitely allow you to save a lot of money when comparing to other companies, while also making sure that you are given all the assistance, help, advice, etc that you will ever need in order to feel secure on the road. What else could we really ask for?

Sharks are attacking our beaches!

When considering the scariest animals that you have ever faced, you probably have never faced a shark and it should really continue that way! Still, it seems that an increasing number of beaches are being visited by these dangerous beings that may really menace our security as you may discover by reading the msnbc.com article just below:

"
By Thomas Kohnstamm

Are your dreams haunted by big, slippery sharks with dead-black eyes? When you see a body of water, do you instantly imagine razor-toothed monsters lurking below the surface, ready to take a delectable bite out of your arm or leg? If you get up the nerve to go in the water, do you wait—heart pounding in your throat—for that ominous dorsal fin to break the surface, signaling the arrival of your mortal enemy?

If so, you should probably re-evaluate your fears. On your average day at the beach, you have a much better chance of being killed by lightning, sun exposure, a falling coconut or a collapsing sand hole dug in the beach by an ambitious 10-year-old (not to mention the most common causes of death at the beach: old fashioned drowning or car crashes somewhere between your front door and the parking lot).

It is undeniable that we are out of our element and all the more helpless in water. That is a huge part of our fear of sharks. It is also the fault of "Jaws" and numerous cable television shows with unnerving soundtracks and graphic re-staged attack footage featuring gallons of fake blood in the water. The shark clearly has a PR problem.

But humans also recognize the shark as one of the planet’s most evolved predators: a nearly flawless stalking and killing machine. Fortunately for us, it is only when one of its flaws occur that a shark opts to bite a bony and nutrition-poor human. As Tasmania-based surfer Gerhard Mausz says, “We’re not on top of the menu when it comes to the shark diet, and when surfers or swimmers get attacked it is almost always an accident.”

“Of the more than 400 shark species in the world,” states the Florida Museum of Natural History-based International Shark Attack File, “only about 30 types are known to have attacked humans.” And only three have a reputation for the highest number of “unprovoked” attacks: great whites, tiger sharks, and bull sharks.

Regardless, all sharks are to be treated with caution and lethal attacks do occur. The beaches that have a relatively high incidence of shark attacks are darkly compelling attractions that excite and repulse our deepest emotions. Sources differ as to which of the three regions—Northern California, Australia or South Africa—holds the record for the highest number of attacks. New Smyrna Beach in Florida claims that largest number of attacks at a single beach.

This list takes us thorough Northern California to South Africa’s eastern coastline—from Cape Town and on to Durban. Our quest also takes us to the popular east coast beaches of Australia, the reefs off the coast of Northeastern Brazil and a few other surprise destinations.

Read the list and learn about the world’s most shark-infested beaches. But remember to not get too scared, because stress can lead to heart problems, and that has a 750,000 times better chance of getting you than a shark.

The importance of chat rooms when we move to a new city

As you probably know from your own personal experience, when we move to a new district or a new city, we often face some exclusion at the beginning and it is often extremely difficult for us to meet some new friends.

Keeping this in mind, chat rooms tend to play a very important role as they allow us to meet new people in whichever city we want in just a few minutes! In fact, I am planning to move to Melbourne in the next few months in order to expand my growing business and I am already joining the best melbourne chat room available on the Internet! If you live in Melbourne or if you are planning to move to that amazing place, why don’t you also join the free chat room to which I have linked just above?

Discovering the volcanoes all around the globe

When considering your favorite destinations all around the world, you probably don't think about volcanoes and how active they might be but the truth is that it is extremely important that we are aware of the fact that they may "wake up" at any moment and we must be prepared for it! If you would like to know more about these volcanoes, then you should read the msnbc.com article just below:

"

By Jeff Koyen

“Volcanoes form mountains; supervolcanoes erase them. Volcanoes kill plants and animals for miles around; supervolcanoes threaten whole species with extinction by changing the climate across the entire planet ... Is it going to blow again?”

What sounds like an advertisement for Hollywood's latest apocalyptic blockbuster are actually the words of Joel Achenbach, Washington Post reporter and science writer. In the August 2009 issue of National Geographic, he wrote about the Yellowstone Supervolcano that sits beneath our beloved national park. When Yellowstone eventually blows sometime in the next 100,000 years (or so), it will make Mount St. Helens look like a geological indigestion.

Fortunately, supervolcanoes are very rare. Volcanoes, however, are all around us.

“On any given day there are probably 25 volcanoes erupting around the world,” William Rose, a professor of Geological Engineering and Sciences at Michigan Technological University, told Space.com. Rose described volcanoes as an “immediate and constant threat to people around the world.”

To identify the world's deadliest volcanoes, we must sometimes rely on educated guesses and estimates culled from contemporary accounts. As for future deadliness, we can refer to the International Association of Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior (IAVCEI), which has compiled a list of the 16 most dangerous volcanoes in the world. These are called the Decade Volcanoes.

Guatemala's Santa Maria volcano is on the IAVCEI's list. The volcano known locally as “Gagxanul,” in the Sierra Madre range, had sat quietly for more than 500 years. But when she exploded in 1902, her blast was the 20th century's third-most violent eruption — after Alaska's Novarupta in 1912 and Pinatubo in the Philippines in 1991.

The explosion is described as “colossal” on the Volcanic Explosivity Index, or VEI, and destroyed 120,000 square miles of countryside and killed 5,000. More died from malaria in the weeks following. In recent decades, Santa Maria herself has been relatively quiet, but a new lava dome formed nearby in 1922. Named Santiaguito, this baby volcano has already destroyed villages, roads and bridges with deadly flows of volcanic material.Central and South America are highly volcanic areas. History has recorded hundreds of eruptions across the region, but none have taken as many lives as the eruption of Colombia's Nevado del Ruiz. Despite warnings of imminent eruption, the residents of Armero, in the Andean region, failed to evacuate their homes. (A number of false alarms had inured them to the danger.)

When the mountain finally exploded on November 11, 1985, a deadly surge of volcanic material engulfed the entire town, killing more than 23,000. Today, memorial sites stand where much of the city and victims remain buried under solidified mud and ash.

When we think of volcanoes, we think about lava. And when we think of lava, we think of heat. That's why Iceland doesn't immediately come to mind when considering deadly volcanoes. But the 40,000-square-mile island was created by — and still sits atop — countless volcanoes that are responsible for the country's famous hot springs. In 1783, the world learned of Iceland's potential for geological catastrophe with the Laki eruption, which released clouds of poisonous hydrofluoric acid and sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere. Three-quarters of Iceland's cattle were killed, resulting in the Haze Famine that took 10,000 lives. Thousands more Europeans may have died in the unusually harsh winter caused by the debris thrown into the atmosphere.

Volcanoes specialize in throwing ash, pumice and other harmful materials into the air. In fact, that's usually how many victims perish. In 79 A.D., Mt. Vesuvius covered Pompeii and its sister city, Herculaneum, beneath 60 feet of ash, killing an estimated 10,000. That's not the last time the world felt the wrath of Italy's sole mainland volcano — in 1631, Vesuvius claimed another 6,000 lives, a 1906 eruption killed 100 and several villages were lost in 1944.

For good reason, Vesuvius is considered the most dangerous volcano in Europe. Volcanologists estimate that in the first 15 minutes of a large-scale eruption, everything within a four-mile radius of the blast could be destroyed. Today, approximately one million people live within that kill zone, with another two million nearby.

Hawaii has the world's most active volcano, Kilauea, but it doesn't rate when we turn to the plural, volcanoes. That honor goes to Indonesia. Thanks to its prime position along the Pacific Ring of Fire, this collection of 17,000 islands claims the most active volcanoes in the world. It can also claim the incident whose name has become synonymous with cataclysm: Krakatau. When this island volcano blew its top in 1883, 36,000 perished.

But even Krakatau isn't the deadliest eruption the world has witnessed. It's not even the deadliest eruption in Indonesia. That honor goes to Mt. Tambora, whose massive 1815 eruption killed 12,000 in the blast and another 80,000 from starvation. That's not the end of the story. Tambora ejected so much ash into the atmosphere that the world experienced an artificial winter.

In fact, 1816 is known as the Year Without a Summer — thanks in no small part to Tambora's eruption. Several regions of the U.S., normally warm, saw snow during the months of July and August. Best estimates may put Tambora's death toll at 92,000 — but it's impossible to calculate the global havoc caused by this geological disaster. Like every other volcano on this list, Mt. Tambora remains active.

Gdansk: history waiting to be discovered

Would you consider yourself a person who loves history and discovering new cities? Would you like to discover some historical European cities such as Gdansk? If that's the case, then you definitely need to read the msnbc.com article just below and discover how incredibly affordable it is to discover on of these important cities that will surely surprise you:

"

By Rick Steves
Tribune Media Services

Standing at the end of Gdansk's long wooden pier, I realize that I can see two of the most important sites in 20th-century history: the spit of land where World War II began, and the shipyard where the Cold War started its long and gradual final act.

Many people imagine this northern-Poland city to be a wasteland of rusted, smoke-belching shipyards. But that's just one view of this multifaceted place. Gdansk boasts an illustrious history and one of the most picturesque old quarters in Eastern Europe.

Gdansk's magnificent Main Town features block after block of red brick churches and colorful, ornately decorated mansions. As one tourist gasped to me, "It's like stepping into a Faberge egg."

A stroll along the main drag, ulica Dluga, allows you to soak in the city's gorgeous architectural cancan. During the Golden Age, these eclectic homes (inspired by a wide range of people, including the Jews, Dutch, Italians and Germans) were taxed based on frontage, so they were built skinny and deep. The widest houses belonged to the super-elite.

War in Europe deestroyed the city
This lovely street wasn't always so lively and carefree. On Sept. 1, 1939 — nearly 70 years ago to this date — Adolf Hitler invaded this once-German city, sparking World War II. By the end of the war, nearly 80 percent of the city had been destroyed, and the main street lay in ruins. Locals stubbornly rebuilt their town with the help of detailed drawings and photographs, mostly using the original brick. Today, excursion boats ferry history buffs through shipyards to Westerplatte point, where the war's first shots were fired.

Right outside the Main Town's Golden Gate, you'll find the Amber Museum, dedicated to the globby yellow stuff that's sold all over the city. Almost 75 percent of the world's amber — a fossilized tree resin — is mined in northern Poland, much of it washing up on beaches following winter storms.

Amber comes in 300 distinct shades, from yellowish-white to yellowish-black, opaque to transparent. I didn't believe it either, until I toured the museum, which shows off amber clocks, amber chandeliers, amber beer steins, a model ship with delicate amber sails — you get the idea. There's even an unfinished altar made entirely of amber at St. Bridget's Church.

If you're interested in visiting a milk bar (bar mleczny), Bar Mleczny Neptun in the Main Town is the city's most popular. Milk bars are government-subsidized cafeterias, a holdover from Poland's communist days, when lowly workers could barely afford to eat out.

Bar Mleczny Neptun has more charm than most milk bars, thanks to its outdoor seating along the most scenic stretch of the main drag. Load your tray with traditional Polish foods, such as borscht or pierogis, pay the cashier, and do a double-take when you realize how little you spent. My bill for a full meal usually comes to about four or five dollars.

Shipyard birthplace of Solidarity movement
Just 15 minutes north of the Main Town, the charms of the old core fade quickly as you come across the Gdansk Shipyard. Here, in the place that Solidarity leader Lech Walesa called the "cradle of freedom," a motley collection of brave shipyard workers took on and ultimately ended the USSR's stranglehold on Eastern Europe.

In August of 1980, a shipyard crane operator and known dissident was fired unceremoniously, sparking a strike. Upon hearing this news, Walesa — an electrician who had been fired for being an agitator — rushed to the shipyard and scaled the wall to get inside and rally the protestors.

Near the shipyard, the excellent "Roads to Freedom" exhibit tells the inspiring story of those workers and re-creates the difficult communist reality they were struggling to change. A typical phone booth is marked Automat Nieczynny — "Out of Order" — as virtually all phone booths were back then. An authentic WC is stocked only with old newspapers (actual toilet paper was cause for celebration).

A replica of a typical 1970s grocery store captures the desperate days when government rationing led to rampant food shortages. You'll see a display case filled with phony wheels of cheese marked "fake," a loaf of bread with a cigarette butt baked into it, and shelves stocked only with vinegar and mustard (about all you could buy during lean times).

Nearly 20 years after the fall of communism, Gdansk is changing. Neighborhoods that were World War II rubble a few years ago are now being remade into posh condos and shopping malls, and a futuristic stadium shaped like a translucent glob of amber is being built to host the 2012 Euro Cup soccer tournament.

Despite modernization, Gdansk will always have a powerful history. Exploring the lanes of this city, I always imagine that around each corner, I might bump into old Lech Walesa — now happily retired — still wandering the time-passed streets.

The best videogames website

English Review:

As a businesswoman who doesn’t have much time to chill out and enjoy some relaxing moments thanks to the incessant necessity to work hard, I always do my best in order to save a few hours every week to dedicate to one of my biggest passions: videogames!

In fact, women may not be so deeply related and connected to videogames but the truth is that I and my friends have been playing these videogames ever since the Mega Drive came out many years ago! Keeping this in mind, I can almost say that I saw the videogames industry growing out of nowhere as well as all the concepts, magazines, websites, etc around videogames, each one of them playing an equally important but different role in the development of the videogames industry.

Personally, with so many years of female videogame experience, I must emphasis that Playstation has really revolutionized the industry with outstanding visuals that have really left a mark in the last decade. Moreover, many magazines such as the official Playstation magazine started to inform players about the upcoming games with a whole new level of detail, making sure that we started to live videogames with much more intensity and passion!

In what relates to websites, I still remember when GameSpot first appeared on the Internet and how it used to be a great place for gamers to chill out and share videogame experiences, advice, tips and other important interaction that proved to be benefic for the videogames industry. Still, as my daughter also loves videogames and we are planning to move to Spain for the next 5-6 years because of my expanding business, I did some research around the Internet looking for GameSpot alternatives in the Spanish language so that she could both be having fun on the website discovering new games and learning the essential Spanish language so that she could communicate with their school colleagues. Fortunately, I came across trucoteca.com which is a website that has really surprised me with its user-friendly interface and overall interesting theme of the website that really made me remember how websites videogames websites should all be! Plus, users are given the chance to use a very efficient search engine that immediately shows you the results that you have been looking for, allowing you to get important tips for that particular game, watching some videos, reading reviews, collecting cheats and other important advice, etc.

As a matter of fact, I would say that the design of the website is also extremely well conceptualized as it brings us back memories from games that we used to play in the past with the well chosen colors that add some intensity and passion to all the pages that we browse around the site. Still, I would personally recommend that the old-fashioned buttons on top of the page allowing us to select “PC”, “PS3”, etc should be replaced with more modern ones so that the website can keep up with a more futuristic view, which I would consider to be the current theme of the website. Moreover, I would also recommend the webmasters to give more emphasis to the extremely addicting free games on the main page so that people can be aware of these amazingly interesting free games that many of us have never heard about.

In what relates to the content of the website itself, I would simply say that everything is well organized with different sections with reviews, tricks and all the other important things that any gamer would expect to get in a videogames website. Furthermore, I would personally say that some of the reviews and guides are so well written and explained that it is a good example for many other International and more reputable websites to follow, which means that this website is getting 7 million visitors every month but has far enough quality to get over 50 million visitors every month within the next year or even sooner as the content of the website simply couldn’t be better!

Airlines showing better results in July

Just as you know, the current financial crisis is menacing many companies and airlines are probably some of the most menaced ones. Keeping this in mind, it would be normal to expect that the quality of their work would increase during this difficult period and that is exactly what is happening as you can confirm by reading the msnbc.com article just below:

"

MINNEAPOLIS - Airline passengers got to their destination on time a little more often in July.

The Transportation Department said on Tuesday that 77.6 percent of airline flights arrived on time, up from 75.7 percent during the same month last year. July's showing was also an improvement over the 76.1 percent on-time rate in June.

Airlines have generally been flying less because of the recession, and that seems to be helping them get their remaining flights to their destinations on time.

Among the largest carriers, Southwest Airlines flights were on-schedule 80.7 percent of the time, followed by US Airways at 80.6 percent and United Airlines at 79.6 percent. United's ranking was a big jump from June's on-time performance of 72.6 percent, among the worst of the big carriers.

American Airlines was last-place among major carriers, with 72.2 percent of its flights arriving on time. Delta Air Lines was a little better at 75.5 percent, and its subsidiary Northwest Airlines came in at 76.4 percent.Airlines said the biggest cause of delays was the late arrival of the airplane to be used on the delayed flight. Other big causes included delays from airport operations and heavy traffic, as well as delays the airline could control, such as maintenance or crew. Weather was cited as a factor in less than 1 percent of all flights.

Nineteen Airlines report monthly on-time data and causes of delays to the Department of Transportation. The delays are labeled under categories such as "Extreme Weather" and "National Aviation System Delay" that were created by the airlines, industry groups, travel agents and government officials.

A flight is considered on-time if it arrives within 15 minutes of the schedule shown in the carriers' reservation systems. Canceled and diverted flights are counted as late.

Among all 19 carriers, Hawaiian Airlines topped the list, with 93.6 percent of its flights arriving on-time. Comair, a regional subsidiary of Delta, was last at 63.6 percent.

The airlines lost less luggage in July, too. The rate of lost bags dropped to 3.98 per 1,000 passengers in July, down from 4.87 in July 2008. Baggage fees became more widespread during that year, causing many travelers to cut back on the amount of luggage they haul to the airport. That has helped airlines do a better job with the remaining bags. The total number of baggage reports fell 21.4 percent to 215,276, even though the number of passengers fell only 3.8 percent.

AirTran Airways had the best performance, with 1.78 mishandled bags for every 1,000 passengers. American Eagle, the regional carrier owned by American Airlines parent AMR Corp., was in last place with 7.9 mishandled bags per 1,000 passengers.

Among the biggest carriers, US Airways had the best performance with 2.75 lost bags per 1,000 passengers, while American was at the bottom with 4.73.

US energy consumption in 2008

Even considering the fact that most families are already doing their best in order to help the world save energy, the truth is that we are still very far away from what we should be doing in order to save the planet! Below you may read the latest update on energy consumption in the US as you may originally read at ScienceDaily:

"

Americans used more solar, nuclear, biomass and wind energy in 2008 than they did in 2007, according to the most recent energy flow charts released by the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. The nation used less coal and petroleum during the same time frame and only slightly increased its natural gas consumption. Geothermal energy use remained the same.

The estimated U.S. energy use in 2008 equaled 99.2 quadrillion BTUs ("quads"), down from 101.5 quadrillion BTUs in 2007. (A BTU or British Thermal Unit is a unit of measurement for energy, and is equivalent to about 1.055 kilojoules).

Energy use in the industrial and transportation sectors declined by 1.17 and 0.9 quads respectively, while commercial and residential use slightly climbed. The drop in transportation and industrial use - which are both heavily dependent on petroleum - can be attributed to a spike in oil prices in summer 2008.

Last year saw a significant increase in biomass with the recent push for the development of more biofuels including ethanol.

"This is a good snapshot of what's going on in the country. Some of the year-to year changes in supply and consumption can be traced to factors such as the economy and energy policy," said A.J. Simon, an LLNL energy systems analyst who develops the energy flow charts using data provided by the Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration.

Simon said the increase in wind energy can be attributed to large investments in wind turbine technologies over the last few years as well as better use of the existing turbines.

Nuclear energy also saw a slight increase from 8.41 quads in 2007 up to 8.45 quads in 2008. While no new nuclear power plants came online in 2008, the existing plants had less down time. Over the last 20 years, the downtime for maintenance and refueling at nuclear power plants had been decreasing.

"There's an incentive to operate as much as possible," Simon said. "It's a smart thing to do. You can't earn revenue by selling electricity when you're down."

Many years of experience have allowed nuclear operators to optimize plant reliability on short maintenance cycles.

The chart also shows the amount of energy rejected by the United States. Of the 99.2 quads consumed, only 42.15 ended up as energy services. Energy services are "things that make our lives better," Simon said. "That's the energy that makes your car move and that comes out of your light bulb."

The ratio of energy services to the total amount of energy used is a measure of the country's energy efficiency. The remainder, explained Simon, "is simply rejected. For example, some rejected energy shows up as waste heat from power plants."

"I'm really excited about the renewed push for energy efficiency in this country," he said. "Because once that energy is rejected, it's no longer useful. But more efficient power plants, automobiles and even light bulbs really do reject less energy while providing the same energy services."

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has helped to visualize the Energy Information Administration's U.S. energy data since the early 1970s.
