Experiments with a NYC airport...

Federal officials are pushing ahead with an experiment to reduce rampant flight delays around the nation by auctioning off takeoff and landing times at New York City-area airports, where most delays begin.

Transportation Secretary Mary Peters announced final rules to begin auctioning takeoff and landing "slots" at the three major New York-area airports: John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia, and Newark-Liberty. Roughly two-thirds of flight delays around the country are caused by backups at those airports.

Peters is adamant that auctions are needed to unclog the skies.

New "stunts" by the airline companies...

If your November travel plans include a flight out of Los Angeles, don’t be surprised to find yourself standing behind a bald, tattooed human billboard.

Starting in late October, Air New Zealand will be stationing recruits at LAX to advertise the transformative power of traveling to New Zealand, with slogans like “Need a Change? Head Down to New Zealand” temporarily inked on the backs of their shaved skulls.

According to Roger Poulton, Air New Zealand’s Vice President in the Americas, “People choosing long-haul travel must be convinced that they will have the experience of a lifetime. What better way to illustrate a dramatic transformation than to shave one’s head?”

New rules with the American airlines...

American Airlines says it will filter an in-flight Internet service to block pornography sites, reversing course after complaints from flight attendants and passengers.

American said Tuesday it was working with technology provider Aircell to allow filtering of its nascent Internet service.

American, the largest U.S. carrier, said it hasn't gotten reports of passengers viewing "inappropriate content" on the Gogo in-flight service but said filtering was "an appropriate measure to take."

The airline launched Internet service in August on some of its Boeing 767 jets that fly between New York and San Francisco, Los Angeles and Miami in a six-month trial.

The importance of email marketing in the success of a business

Even though I am concerned about everything that relates to travels and that kind of trips that can make us love the world a bit more, the truth is that I am also aware of everything related to technologies and mainly the world of web mastering and Internet…

The fury of a passenger...

Just as most people, I am quite a temperamental person and so I end up arguing with authorities and pilots a lot! In fact, when I travel it seems that I am the one in charge of making the pilot's head explode with critics and stuff! Anyway, I found this story even better:

"Boston police said a passenger who was angry because his flight was delayed tried to get back at the airline by throwing foot powder around the plane.

Arthur Nicolson, of Framingham, was arrested Monday after the U.S. Airways flight from Las Vegas landed at Logan International Airport.

The plane's captain told state police that after the plane landed, Nicolson began throwing the white powder and said, "This is what your airline gets for treating me bad."

When state police arrested Nicolson, he allegedly had a 7-ounce container of Dr. Scholl's foot powder.

Nicolson, 42, pleaded not guilty and was released on personal recognizance Tuesday after his arraignment on charges including disorderly conduct and interfering with the operation of an aircraft.

A message left for Nicolson's attorney was not immediately returned Tuesday."

A new concept of vacations...

Just as you know, I am always traveling around the country and when it’s possible for me, I also tend to travel to foreign destinations… But how can I do it now that our economy is facing quite difficult times?

Why not learning a new skill next time you travel?

Even though we may travel in order to see something new and witness some new views of the world, the truth is that we still don't pay much attention to the fact that we also need to learn something when we decide to travel and that's exactly something that we must change!

Adult education can be a beautiful thing. Lovers of the finer things in life—like Aston Martin cars and Valrhona chocolates—can learn about them by taking special courses offered by their parent companies ... often in exceedingly pleasant surroundings.

Learning vacations can teach you everything from how to drive an Aston Martin and gamble in Monte Carlo’s renowned casinos to how to make truffles using Valrhona’s fabled chocolate. At the very least, they'll turn you into a great date.

Other “status skills” you can pick up include glass-blowing—taught at a school outside Seattle founded by the famed artisan, Dale Chihuly—wine and scotch-making, tango and ballroom dancing, and even learning how to be a mahout, or elephant driver. Hint: It's all in the knees.

Your appearence is very important to get a promotion!

Even though I am a traveler and I always do my best to get some free time to dedicate to travels, the truth is that I am a business man just like the most of you, fellow readers. In fact, just as we have been discussing lately, it’s extremely important that we get a very good job so that we can get the financial stability to allow us to travel to anywhere in the world, anytime we want!

Keeping this in mind, I personally think that one of the most important things when you want to become a very successful businessman or if you simply want to get a promotion in the company it’s definitely the way you dress and your general physical appearance. I mean, if your suit gives you the Italian class, then it’s much easier to impress both the people that interact with you and the customers in general… And who will be extremely happy with that? It would be your boss! So, next time you decide to get a new suit then you should definitely get yourself a Made to Measure suit available at mysuitny.com allowing you to impress everyone else with your brand new suit that is just stunning and classic!
