Keeping this in mind, I would like you to read the msnbc.com article just below and see how you can definitely take the most out of your travels:

The economy may have crashed the travel budget of the average American, but for many executives and business owners, frequent travel is still a necessity.

Most professionals say they are shifting to thrift, trimming their travel schedules, switching to cheaper destinations and hunting for bargains. But when you have to hop on a plane at a moment's notice, or take regular 14-hour flights from New York to Tokyo, there is only so much one can compromise on price and comfort.

Chalk it up to experience: Many of these executives have become travel experts, with the kind of know-how only true corporate nomads can obtain.

ForbesWoman spoke with 10 female executives from a wide array of industries for tips on what makes their exhaustive travel schedules less costly, more productive and even — dare we say it — fun.

Los Angeles-based shoe designer Taryn Rose, who travels once or twice a month on business to New York, Paris or Milan, says that using a high-end travel agent is well worth a $50 transaction fee (international fees range from $75 to $200).

Rose's agent, Lucie Fattal of Westside Travel in Beverly Hills, Calif., can negotiate deals for first-class flights and luxury hotels and properties, and can also book last-minute emergency flights. "She's been everywhere and knows all the managers and staff," says Rose.

Travelers who can't get someone like Fattal — who comes only by referral — can still use tricks of the trade: Many airlines offer priority upgrades for customers who travel over 100,000 air miles.

Jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz swears by her American Express Centurion (or "black") card, which has given her access to upgrades on some airlines, hotel amenities like upgrades to suites, late checkouts and concierge service or complimentary car rentals.

A new concept of children flying

Have you always wondered if children should be given better conditions when they decide to travel by plane? If that's the case, then you will be glad to know that an increasing number of people are now claiming that airlines should pay more attention to that matter. Below is another msnbc.com article explaining you the whole story:

"

By IndependentTraveler.com staff

A father watched as his 11-year-old son Seth embarked on a flight alone to visit family. Seeing Seth walk down the runway, he went home, assuming his son would arrive safely. Six hours later, he discovered Seth had walked off the plane before departure. He left the airport, stopped at a gas station for directions and trotted 30 miles along an interstate to his home town.

If you are allowing your children to fly alone, be sure to take every necessary precaution to ensure their safety. Millions of children fly alone each year, the majority without incident. But Seth's case should be a warning to parents: Be sure you and your child are prepared for the trip.

Unaccompanied minors
Children ages 5-14 who travel without a parent or guardian are known as "unaccompanied minors." Many airlines will not allow children who are under 7 to make connections at all, but in the event a minor is old enough to change planes, they will probably be assisted by airline personnel and a fee of $75-$100 will be charged. Some airlines, Southwest for example, will not allow any minor (5-11) to change planes. On US Airways, a child must be at least 15 years old to take a flight with a connection.

If you intend to send an unaccompanied minor by plane (with or without a connection), you will be required to fill out a form detailing the child's name, age, medical considerations and other relevant information. Upon arrival, children will be escorted from the aircraft by a flight attendant and released to the person named by you prior to departure.

In addition, you will have to agree that the airline is not taking on any special responsibility of guardianship during the flight. Legally, an unaccompanied minor is treated in the same way as an adult passenger.

General age guidelines
Airline rules vary, but here's a good idea of what to expect on domestic flights:

Children ages 1-4 may fly only when accompanied by an adult. A child must be at least 5 to fly alone.

Are you a fan of Frank Lloyd?

When considering the houses that you admire the most, which are the first ones that come to your mind as your favorite ones? Personally, I would say that Frank Lloyd is definitely one of the most talented persons that I have seen in the business so far, making it absolutely mandatory that you read the msnbc.com article below to see how you can have a closer look at all his work:

"

By CARRIE ANTLFINGER

MILWAUKEE - Taliesin opens for the season in April, and officials there expect big crowds, despite the recession. Or maybe because of the recession.

The number of visitors to Frank Lloyd Wright's home in Spring Green, about 120 miles west of Milwaukee, increased 10 percent from 2007 to 2008, after flat attendance the two previous years.

Advanced reservations are up 65 percent over this time last year, said Carol Johnson, president of the nonprofit Taliesin Preservation Inc. Gift shop sales were up about 10 percent, she said.

But Taliesin West, Wright's winter home and studio in Scottsdale, Ariz., saw a drop in tour attendance by nearly 15 percent and gift shop sales by 4 percent last year.

Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation President Phil Allsopp said he suspects part of the difference is tourists tend to fly to Arizona because big cities are so distant. People can drive from Milwaukee and Chicago to Spring Green in three or four hours.

Allsopp called the interest in Taliesin "fabulous."

"We really can't figure out why, but we're are not complaining about it," he said in a recent phone interview from his office in Scottsdale.

The foundation operates Taliesin in Spring Green and Taliesin West, does student outreach programs and runs the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture and the Frank Lloyd Wright Archives.

The importance of bronze plaques

While traveling all around the world, I realized that one of the most important things in life are definitely the memories that we have of those that we have always loved and who are now gone, the memories that we keep about the heroes in our lives and also the memories of those who have always done their best in order to make us feel special!

Keeping this in mind, when you try to make a good memory of those persons that you have always admired, you often end up not knowing what to do when they pass away and so you think you are the only one in that situation. As a matter of fact, my friend Bill recently lost her beloved English teacher at school who he has always admired and who has always helped him and he really had no idea of which grave marker he would be choosing and also what he would be writing on it! Fortunately, all of you who ever end up facing a similar situation now have the chance to have a look at these Bronze Markers And Plaques which will last for centuries and with the help of their website you can even have a more precise idea of what you will be writing on the plaque as you will be given some special advice from people who regularly deal with those situations. Personally, I will be using the website to which I have linked above whenever I need to get a bronze plaque in order to express my admiration for someone who is no longer amongst us.

So, would you also like to buy some new bronze plaques or similar plaques? If that’s the case, then you definitely need to have a look at the website above and see what that company can do for you.

Traveling may often surprise us...

Do you honestly think that you have seen everything and there is nothing else that airlines can do in order to surprise you? Below is another msnbc.com article which will definitely make your opinion change as you will hear about the amazing tale of a man who just wanted to rush to the bathroom:

"

ATLANTA - A man rushing to get to the restroom on an international Delta Air Lines flight has been charged with assault, accused of twisting a flight attendant's arm.

Joao Correa of Concord, Ohio, says he had a bathroom emergency but his path was blocked by a beverage cart during the March 28 flight from Honduras to Atlanta. He asked if he could use the lavatory in business class, but was told no, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper.

Federal Aviation Administration policy requires passengers on international flights to use the restroom in their seating class.

Authorities say the 43-year-old man is accused of pulling and twisting the flight attendant's arm, the newspaper said. He was arrested when the plane landed in Atlanta and charged with assault.

Correa was released after two nights in jail, pending a hearing.

Sending a special postcard

As a traveler who spends a lot of time away from home and the people that I love the most, I recognize the important role that postcards play in our lives as the best way of expressing our feelings when we are away and we need something to substitute our voice when trying to pass a message…

Keeping this in mind, I would personally consider that the best place for us to find the ideal postcard to send to someone special is definitely vistaprint.ca and that’s something that you can confirm by having a look at the website to which I have linked just above. In fact, on that website users are given the chance to upload their own styles or you may prefer to browse the existing ones, making sure that there are plenty of possibilities when you finally decide to send the postcard to that special person in your life! Personally, I believe that we should use our own style in each postcard meaning that I would add my own photos and designs to every single postcard that I would be sending there. Moreover, I would try to use different colors for the background and for the words based on who I am going to send them to… Not long ago, I decided to send a postcard to my beautiful fiancĂ©e and I managed to notice that she has really loved the photos that I have uploaded to the postcard and how I matched the colors of the postcard with those words… Plus, I also wrote a nice poem on the right side of the postcard right next to an amazing rose, giving it a special meaning.

So, would you also like to send some postcards to impress someone that you admire? If that is something that you would like to do, then you definitely need to have a look at the website above and remember to upload your own design so that the receiver can always tell who sent it by having a look at the particular style of the postcard.

The secrets behind airport body scans

Do you plan to travel anytime soon by plane? If that's the case, then you will almost certainly have to pass trough the airport body scan before you can continue your travel... In fact, do you know how it all works and would you like to know more about the secrets behind it? Read the article below from msnbc.com and discover more:

"

By Jeremy Hsu

New airport security scanners could become a popular alternative to body searches, but have also prompted some privacy concerns.

Whole-body imaging technologies can see through clothing to reveal metallic and non-metallic objects, including weapons or plastic explosives. They also reveal a person's silhouette and the outlines of underwear.

That hasn't stopped security officials from implementing them. The U.S. Transportation Security Agency (TSA) started using whole-body imaging at six airports this year, and plans are in the works to expand it to airports in several more U.S. cities later this year.

The TSA has tested two technologies, including "millimeter wave" (MMW) technology which bounces radio-frequency waves off people to construct a 3-D image within a few seconds. TSA also temporarily leased four "backscatter" units which use X-ray scanning, although the MMW method is currently faster.

Early this year, TSA began implementing MMW as a primary screening technology next to metal detectors at airports in San Francisco, Miami, Albuquerque, Tulsa, Salt Lake City and Las Vegas.

Airports in 20 U.S. cities, such as JFK in New York City and LAX in Los Angeles, have used or plan to use MMW tech this year. Other countries have also begun using or evaluating MMW for airport screening, including the UK, Netherlands, Japan and Thailand.

The MMW and backscatter scans intentionally blur facial features, and the security officer viewing images sits in a remote location where he or she cannot identify the passengers, said Lara Uselding, a TSA spokesperson. She added that the systems also delete scanned images after the viewings, and have "zero storage capability."

That has not stopped privacy advocates from asking how much passengers may unwittingly reveal in whole-body imaging.

"Body scanners produce graphic images of travelers' bodies and are an assault on their essential dignity," said Barry Steinhardt, director of the ACLU's Technology and Liberty Project. "The safeguards announced by the TSA do not convince us that the technology is acceptable, and we question the supposed voluntary nature of these scanners."
